It’s a new NBA season, and with that comes a new season of NBA podcasts. Every week I’ll be joined by various writers and fans from across the Association to dig into the hot topics of the week.
For episode one, regular listeners of the Beyond the Fence podcast will recognise Tim Wray, who has appeared on the show to talk about the NBA and NBA trading cards, as well as Formula 1.
Tim, a Bucks fan, joins me to break down the big offseason moves, including Damian Lillard to Milwaukee, Jrue Holiday flowing on to Boston with Kristaps Porzingis, Chris Paul to Golden State and Marcus Smart to Memphis.
We also take a look at how the Nuggets stability compares to the overhaul of their title challengers, as well as projecting Memphis without Ja Morant and Houston with Dillon Brooks.
Plus, we can’t not talk about the expectations for Victor Wembanyama and how much the Spurs improve this year, as well as also talking about the new look Blazers led by Scoot Henderson and Anfernee Simons, as well as Brandon Miller and the Thompson twins.
To wrap up, a check in on the offseason movements of some of the Australians in the NBA, including Jack White and Duop Reath getting cut, Patty Mills to Atlanta, Jock Landale to Houston, Dante Exum to Dallas and a new year of Ben Simmons (note this was recorded prior to Duop Reath re-signing on a two way deal and Xavier Cooks being released by Washington).
Make sure you subscribe to Beyond the Fence wherever you get your podcasts. This initial episode is a long one to get through the minutiae of a long offseason, future episodes will be shorter I promise.
Otherwise, check it out, subscribe and leave a rating and review.
